700R4 swap, engine forward method: Headers?

I spent a lot of time reading old threads and only saw a few very old & brief references to headers related to moving the engine forward to swap in a 700R4 tranny. Hopefully, I can get some more recent experiences here. The project is a 1972 Jimmy 4WD with crate 350, no A/C. The transmission is coming from Bow Tie Overdrives with the correct output shaft already installed & the TV-EZ product. I've been a customer of theirs for over 10 years, so using them was a no brainer.

For the swap, I am doing the 'engine forward' method - moving the motor mounts forward 1 3/4" (approx), no other driveline changes necessary. For those that have done this method:

1) what headers did you use or recommend (or what doesn't fit)?
2) what was used for the lower radiator hose?

I used Hedmann headers on my lowered 2 wd. The collectors drag on speed bumps.

I have full length tri Y Doug Thorley headers on mine and don't have any issues. I moved the motor forward as well. I had to re-clock the header flange on the pass side because of contact being made in certain situations with the leaf spring shackle. I used the same hose, just cut it back. I did take the same amount off the fan shroud that the motor moved to keep the proportion the same and not bury the fan too far inside it. The only problems I had was finding a shop that could build a solid trans, and dialing in the trans cooling (I tow with mine). Other than that I love it! 33" tires with 4.10's

I did this with a BTO tranny in my K20 but kept the stock exhaust manifolds. IIRC the lower rad hose was one for a C20 - there's no 4wd specific hose currently available to my knowledge. It fit fine. Searching the forum will bring up threads related to this. Also, your fan shroud will need a little trim or you can try a 2wd example (didn't do this so not sure how it'll work). The fit of the upper rad hose is just a little off but still usable.
