What are you using for a review mirror?

My GMC didn't come with a rear view mirror. I don't see anywhere in the metal roof where you would screw one in. Were they supposed to be affixed to the windshield? Any pics would be amazing.

From some that I have seen they were either affixed to the windshield or screwed into the roof. I believe it depended on the years as well. Look around too to see what was the option for your truck.

60/66 were never glued to the windshield most did not have a inside/center mirror as they had left and right side outside mirrors ... what is shown above is what they used when it had inside mirror

Re: What are you using for a review mirror?

My 1960 GMC didn’t come with an inside mirror either, as the original owner put a camper shell on when the truck was new.

I bought one of the OEM style inside mirrors and was never happy with it. Like so many reproduction mirrors the head doesn’t “flip straight” when switching from night to day setting. I replaced it with a cheap $5.00 glue on mirror from Walmart. It is steady as a rock and doesn’t change the view whether set on day or night.

Re: What are you using for a review mirror?

you would think the rear view mirror is standard but it was an option. my cab had just the basics. i had to add the passenger sun visor, both arm rests and yes the rear view mirror. i found center used the mount as a template marked the holes and drilled. came out just fine.

Not original and hard to see very far behind you with a small back window but the wink mirror is kinda cool.

Thanks, it's pretty cool and looks good from the front. You really can't use sun visors tho.
