New Here...My 63 Burb
Had been telling me husband, who has a 69 GMC C10 Pickup, that I wanted my own ride/project. Had to be something different that you don't see in our area. Went to a Good Guys show in Texas last year and found this beauty. I fell in love with her instantly and knew she had to come home to Tennessee with us. Two weeks later she was in our garage...looking like she does in the first photo. We had ideas and decided to start on her right away! By the way...we call her Clementine!
She has a 454 crate motor in her and that will stay. We have had the suspension done, 5" drop in front 7" drop in back (All from CPP). All new MagnaFlow exhaust, replaced the brake booster and master cylinder, new tires with a 2 1/4" White Wall from Coker Tire on 15x8 Smoothies also from Coker. A little paint work including removing the big mirrors and replacing with Peep mirrors, repainting the roof, bumpers, grill and those new smoothies. All that is left now is interior work that starts tomorrow! She had the original second and third row seat with the original material, no tears but would tear if you looked at it wrong. Keeping the same classic style inside! Gotta keep her old school! Now she needs a roof rack...any ideas where we can get one? Glad I found this forum and have enjoyed looking at all the burbs so far! |

Re: New Here...My 63 Burb
Welcome! We were at the Fall GoodGuy's show ourselves and checked out that burb too!! Spoke with the owner for a bit about the burb and what he had done with it...glad to see both it and you found your way here. The work you've done is a great improvement, really looks nice.

I really like the White walls on the white rims. Looks great overall. Good luck on the roof rack. I have seen posts about them before but unsure myself where to find them.

Re: New Here...My 63 Burb
Thanks everybody! We are excited to start showing it, taking her to Good Guys Nashville next weekend.
Tires are 215/65 R15 BF Goodrich - we were worried they might be a little small, maybe needed to be a little bigger but they will do! |

Re: New Here...My 63 Burb
Good eye, the panel in the back has a long history here in Memphis. It sat out in front of a local fireplace shop as advertisement for more than 25 years. Then one day it was gone......then it turned up as a shop truck for a local paint shop. It's a long wheel base panel on air bags. I'll try to get some more pics when I'm back at the shop.

Re: New Here...My 63 Burb
Cool looking burb! Welcome
as for a roof rack, I havent found any suppliers yet. I've seen several that use/modify racks from different years to work on our era but IMO they never look quite right. I cant find the link right now but there was another thread a while back where someone built one using some quick releases for the drip rail. I plan on doing the same. Here is a link to some brackets if you want to try making your own. http://www.nrs.com/product/3200/quic...-top-racks-set |

Re: New Here...My 63 Burb
We drooped the back bench seats off a couple of weeks ago to get redone. We dropped Clementine off this morning to finish her up. We'll post interior pics when we get her back late next week.
