junkyard score

Not sure what I will do with it but know it's an uncommon find so I snagged it.

Re: junkyard score

what'd you get?

the whole truck, the grill, bumper or just the eye lids for the headlights?

"eye lids for the headlights"

Was that a stickily cosmetic reason or was there another purpose? Was it an option? I wonder why GM decided to do the extra bling.

The grill. Would have got the bumper if it would have fit my burb. Went there to get a bumper.

Re: junkyard score

As far as I know 60-62 bumpers won't direct fit to a 63-66.

Bumpers can be made to fit the rear of the Suburban with a little ingenuity.

Yeah. That is what we did with my front bumper. Moved it to the rear. Looking for a replacement front bumper when I went there.

Re: junkyard score

Hey man, can you hook a brother up with the name of the junkyard you found that at?
I very badly need that front grille surround/core support area to replace the one on my '61 Suburban that got deer-killed last fall.

Great score on the grill... I'm jealous!

That's a three-hour hike for me... but I don't mind a little wildlife in the quest for a good junkyard!

Anything else vintage in that yard? I've got a couple buddies that are pretty serious about good junkyard crawls.
