Just joined the suburban club. 1972 Burban

Just picked up a pretty clean '72 Chevy Suburban on Thursday.
Plans are to fleshen it up some, give it a little tlc and freshen up a few things for now.

Then I'd like to lower it.
Anyone know of a good lowering kit for a sub with coil spring rear and front disc brakes? I'd like to go as low as possible without bags.

I'm new to this site...is there an app that can be used on a smart phone?
I'd like to post a picture.

Welcome, and congrats on getting a classic Suburban!
There are many choices for suspension on your Suburban.

Re: Just joined the suburban club. 1972 Burban

Congrats on the Burb. I dropped my 72 Burb using CPP components: 3"/4" drop springs front and rear, lowered shocks, front shocks re-enforcement brackets, and adjustable pan-hard bar in the rear. I believe I paid around $400 for everything. I had a very good experience with CPP but you will hear mixed reviews about their customer service! You might be able to get 5" in the rear without a "C" notch. No issues with a 4" drop for me and I run a 275/55R20 rear tire. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into their stuff.
I'm leaving towards the ECE 4/6, just want to see what else is out there.

Re: Just joined the suburban club. 1972 Burban

Welcome, and be sure to post up some pics when you can. I'm not sure on suspension as I have one on four bags and the other on four leaf springs, but whatever kit you go with keep in mind the rear of a burb is heavier than a pickup. Be sure to ask when you're ordering if that is accounted for.

Here's a pic of it. I'll try to snap a few more later. Ordered new tires for it yesterday. The ones that are on it are dry rotted really bad.

My first Suburban was medium bronze.

"The Bronze Beast", I miss that truck.

Nice Burb Boschma. Are you going to pull the Nordic with it ? Haven't seen you on RD's lately with the 55, Do you have it done yet? I think my boys and I are going to my Cuz's there in Olton for opening day of Dove season this year. I'll give you a shout when the date gets closer. What about Porterbuilt or ECE for your lowering needs.

I am in the same spot here as well, would like to lower but not C notch. Do we have some picture examples of lowered suburbans for reference?

It'd be cool if it could pull the Eliminator, but doubt the wife would want to leave the comfort of her suburban.

I talked to ECE about their 4/6 kit for it. Should sit nice after that. Got some new tires on it today. They are two inches shorter so that's a good start.

Well.....after a big wind my sub got pretty beat up last week. I've decided to sell it.
How do I post an ad here on this site? I don't see anywhere that will let me post one.

That's too bad. I know some areas down there got hammered pretty bad. You have to be a subscribing member to sell stuff on here. If you click on "Subscribe" in the menu bar at the top of this page it will show all of the options.

I know you are probably pretty bummed about it but I would consider just driving it for a while 'til things cool down a little, then make a decision. I had a tree fall on the hood and fender of my all original '70 Chevy pickup and that's what I'm doing....
