master cyl?????
What is this off of? It is on my 64 C10. Not sure if it is original for the truck. Could I use it with a new dual master for disk in the front?

Re: master cyl?????
That might have been the original one on the truck but it won't work with disc brakes. You have to have a dual master cyl. & combination valve.

Re: master cyl?????
I get the impression the OP meant to ask about the power booster rather than master cylinder, since he mentions replacing the master cylinder with a dual reservoir version. As long as the mounting pattern is the same, which I think it is, it should work with a dual reservoir master cylinder I'd think.

Re: master cyl?????
My 65 has a power booster from factory I think and it is a flush mount to the firewall. The master cylinder has been replaced with a dual reservoir and proportion valve.

Re: master cyl?????
That booster/master combo will havea long intermediate pushrod. A disc/drum master will need a short intermediate pushrod. The long rod can be shortened as Sharps40 said, or you may be able to switch it for a short one from a later model booster.

Re: master cyl?????
Here's the factory booster from my 66 for reference.
Hope it helps.

Re: master cyl?????
I did notice the hose. Many boosters I've seen have spots on both sides for hose location. Your booster looks similar to the set up on my 68 - it's actually off of a 69.

Re: master cyl?????
I may just buy a new booster, dual master with a proportion valve. It might be better in the long run.
