I hope she found a good home!
It was 1974 when dad moved the family from Torrance, CA to Lompoc, CA. Next to the old garage at our house on Kingsdale ave. was a 1950 Chevy PU that we had to leave behind. I stall ran, but hadn't been driven for a few years. It had 1952 doors and a 1953 Corvet duel exhaust manifold. Body was just brown primer, but the seat had been recovered in Blue.
I don't know what made me think of her after all these years. I just hope she found a good home after we left her there.

Re: I hope she found a good home!
Sadly,NO. I wish I did. I thought maybe I could trace it down if I did. The thing is, this was one of two trucks from my childhood. My dad and my grampa both bought trucks at the same time. Dad's was the 1950 5 window, grampas was the 1949 3 window. It got left in Overton, NV when he was murdered in 1970.
It's just part of my past that I wonder about from time to time.

Re: I hope she found a good home!
I have my Great grandpas and pawpaws '59... very thankful how I got it
Great Grandfather bought this Brand new, and when he died in '76 my grandfather got it and used it hauling hay and cattle for many years it started breaking down and then it was pretty much abandoned for 18 years after my Grandfather parked it into our pasture.Eventually it got sent to a Local junkyard where it sat for many years until someone bought it and recently I found it with no VIN or anything. It has the Original Documents etc, and the handwriting was confirmed to be my Grandfathers and others confirmed the truck..Originally was a Light green Still have the original License plate that he had, not sure how old it is...may date back to the 70s Still had my Grandfathers things in the Glove box that he had bought and left in there when he parked it.Even had a Bottle opener mini and I found another one in his Tool box outside and thought that was Cool.

Re: I hope she found a good home!
I remember sitting next to dad and shifting gears on the column shift. She was the first thing I ever drove, once I got big enough to reach the peddles.

Re: I hope she found a good home!
My grandpa bought my 50 5 window 3100 new. I grew up with GPAS50 it was his hay truck, It what I learned to drive in, at 8 he'd pull the throttle up some and put it in granny gear and send me out into the pasture. He always told me when he was done with it I could have it. But with one stipulation this was 86-87 when sunroofs were in. If i was going to cut a hole in the roof cut the whole damn roof off..lol He passed away in 89 and the rest is history its gone through many phases and still seems to be always under construction. People always say everything is for sale well my truck is not!!
