Ignition Wires for Performance Headers

Anyone know of any ignition wires for a 350 I can buy for performance headers? This is the second set that have melted from the heat, I'm using OE style with some having 90 degree bends on the boot and some having no bend on the boot......

Put some heat shield boots on the wires.

Now there's an idea. Can I find those at an Advance, AutoZone, or Pep boys?

Re: Ignition Wires for Performance Headers

I have standard MSD wires on my headers, and they are not melting at all. OEM set melted real quick.

Re: Ignition Wires for Performance Headers

I have Hooker 2453 headers on my K10. I used Taylor 74206 wires with no problems.

One thing is you need a cable tray or clips to hold the wires up by the valve covers until you peel them off because, no matter what wires you get, you do have to keep them off the header tubes.

The #1 and #2 wires run right off the front of the engine and curve down and back to the plugs to miss the headers. #3 and #4 are easy. For the last four cylinders, I peeled #5 and #6 off as soon as they were past the last header tubes, then looped them forward to the plugs. I ran #7 and #8 past where I peeled off #5 and #6, and looped them back to the plugs.
