Suburban Body Swap Help

Hi, I have a 1965 1/2 ton 4x4 Suburban. I would like to make a daily driver out of it. I was wondering if anyone knew what newer chassis would be the easiest to set it on with the least amount of headaches. I was hoping it would be new enough for disc brakes and auto.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. JJ

I know some have used a 90's suburban frame. Not sure the details on how it fits.

Re: Suburban Body Swap Help

IMO it is a whole lot less work to just upgrade your original chassis, especially with a 2wd. The '88 and up frames are very different from the '73-'87's which are different than the '72 and earlier frames. I have installed a '62 pickup body onto a '74 frame and the work building body mounts is just not worth it for basically no gain over just upgrading an original frame and chassis. Plus with retaining the original frame, you won't ever have an issue with having a body and frame with different VIN's.
