Radiator hoses.

Just finishing up the 383 install in my 62. Anyone know of a Napa or Goodyear part number for upper and lower hoses? Thanks.

Re: Radiator hoses.

Are you using an original style radiator? Does the engine have the short water pump like it should, or is it a long water pump?

Re: Radiator hoses.

For my 64 C10 with a 350 long pump I used an upper molded hose for a 1966 C10 with a 327 for the lower hose I used a Gates #20694 molded radiator hose. I had to trim a little off the water pump side. I believe the hose is for a 67 or 68 C10 with factory A/C.

What direction should the water necks face on these trucks?

depends on the engine. some L6 face driver side and some straight up, V8's like 283 with the oil filler tube face towards radiator

Re: Radiator hoses.

I can't say how it's supposed to be from the factory in 1964 but the one I have that I bought the upper hose to fit a 66 with a 327 is angled upward maybe 30 - 40 degrees or so and points pretty much straight ahead towards the radiator.

Re: Radiator hoses.

Those only work with the '63-'66 style radiators.

Re: Radiator hoses.

I just took a wire and bent it to the shape I need then went to carquest and matched up the hose. Top hose was easy. Bottom hose had to be trimmed on both ends.
