Re: my new truck
I think your truck has the exact same oil cap as mine where everyone tells me that I'm supposed to have a breather...

Re: my new truck
That's a 235 Jay. They stopped use of the 235 in 62 for c-10's and it was used through 63 in the 4wd models. Has the breather tube (road draft tube) on the pass side of the block just in front of the distributor. The 230/250/292 had the oil cap/breather combo and PCV valve on the valve covers and were 1st used in 63. The PCV system replaced the road draft tube style ventilation breathers.

Re: my new truck
Clean the plugs, replace the coil, plug wires and battery. Put some gas in it and I bet it will run. Looks like you have a good project. Can't wait to see it running!

Re: my new truck
Nice truck. It looks like a great candidate for a good CLR scrub down, get it running and drive it. After fixing the seat, might hurt to sit on that one for a while, haha.

Re: my new truck
Neat truck. Looks solid.
Quote:
*Note: I haven't seen one with it so far, but the early 194-292 script valve covers did have a flat spot where the grommet for the hose to the air cleaner would be, so I would assume that some might have came like that in some configuration. **Also, earlier stuff actually had louvers in the valve cover for ventilation, so would have used a non vented cap.

Re: my new truck
Thanks everyone for feed back and help. The truck floor board are 2 inches from the ground. Been sitting for 34 years. I have not cranked it yet or pulled it out yet I gave 450 cash and removing some trees in her yard. I showed it to my grand dad who said he had a 62 c10 short step growing up. He wants to trade his 84 c20 longed for it. It is yellow with a utility bed. Rust free 4 on the floor. What would you do? Take it or leave it?
