Welcome and great looking truck. Looks like you've put quite a bit of work into it already. What are your plans for the truck?

Welcome, that has to be one of the cleanest under hood shots I have seen of a non restored truck in a very long time!

I also like the wheels!

Re: New member, first post

Pappy, I keep a couple extra sets of delete panels around at all times. That's one of the top items on the "scrounge at all costs" list.
I have 2 66 SWB steps and a 65 LWB Custom Cab that are next in line. Arizona is the Mecca of largely rust free trucks. I buy all of them I can afford...

I'm planning to hammer out some of the larger dents and send it off for clear coat. The inside door panels are out back drying right now...
I have to overhaul the instrument cluster and clean it up; install a/c and a radio, and put some more miles on it. There's a car show in August in Silver City New Mexico that I go to every year. This year, I'm driving MY truck.

Thanks Clyde! Those are stock 15" 6 lug steelies...disc brake style. I rat hole them any chance I get. I must have 3 more sets out back...
Narrow chrome trim rings compliments of FleaBay, and a set of hand-polished and hand-painted 67 Camaro hub caps from the last hot rod swap meet.
The local parts house mixed up a couple rattle cans of the original GM Dark Blue for the wheels and firewall.

Nice truck!

I can't find any 6 lug steelies anywhere near me. You are lucky!

I have a dirty secret...check with any local trailer places, the 15x7 is a popular item as it shares the same bolt pattern as most trailer axles...
There is a tire shop in a small town North and East of us, I go there about once a month to visit friends and always find a couple there. Not telling where!! My own little picking honey hole...
I even found two different pairs of 8" steelies there, one pair with the center cap nubs and one pair without...still holding on to those...

Nice!
We have the same taste. Crusty on the outside, shiny under the hood.

Glendale? I rarely shop that far away...don't you think truck and parts prices are out of hand up there?
But yes, I AM part of the parts shortage problem. I do share though!
There are a few real rabid scroungers down here that I horse trade with regularly. If you need something, one of us either has it or knows where it is.
