Disc brake rear end 12 bolt

Found this rear end and was trying to figure out the thing. It looks like they used stock front calipors on it.
Suppose to go look at it Saturday for $150.00. Say's it will bolt right up. Doesn't know what gear it is but that should be easy to figure out.

What do you all think? It maybe worth just having it and redoing it to put under my truck. Would love rear disc brakes.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Disc brake rear end 12 bolt

Better pics of the brakes would help. It also looks like it has mount brackets on the top and bottom of the housing. First think I would do is check it for a posi and look to see what else has been done.

The calipers look like the ever-popular D52's from GM full sizes. I think Cap Fab makes a bracket to do that swap.

Not sure about the rotors tho, those look unusual to me.

Question Re: Disc brake rear end 12 bolt

We had our monthy truck meet this morning. Called the guy afterwards he wasn't home and said it would be late this afternoon before he got back. So I didn't get to go by and look at it. Hope I can next week one day. before I head to the beach for a week of relaxing!

Re: Disc brake rear end 12 bolt

I would just put disc brakes on your current rearend.

Do you even know if this rearend is the correct width?
If it's the narrower 67-69 housing,... it's going to rub the wheel tubs with your current wheels.
(3/4" narrower per side)

Re: Disc brake rear end 12 bolt

Buy these from board vendor Captain Fab, and do it yourself.

Thumbs up Re: Disc brake rear end 12 bolt

Can't justify the price of the parts when I can get a whole rear end cheaper. If it is what he say's it is. He states it's out of a 71-72 C-10. Yes that's why I want to check it out first and measure it to see if in fact it is what he says.

I have no problem buying from vendors off this board. But I also don't like wasting my money either as anyone else on here does. The rear end if it is what he say's is by far a better buy. + I will have it to rebuild at my own time before I put it under the 71. It has well over 300,000 on it and I think it's time I either swaped it out are rebuild it. This way I can still drive it and work on this one.
