Elc. wiper motor

Has anyone replaced the elc wiper motor with the after market wiper motors

Clearly, this is not a Yugo forum. And the last I checked, this is the 47-59 message board. With that said, some have made their own brackets, and used wipers out of other make/models to serve their purpose.

Myself, I will probably go with one from New Port Engineering. I have heard very good things about their products. Don't have to spend an entire weekend figuring out/making the brackets, getting frustrated when they don't fit quite right, etc etc. $200, bolt-in, done.

My truck is a 1958 chevy 3100. I talked to newportwipers they said I have to get the arm from a vacuum motor, to use the after market one's. my is electric, and no good motor burn up.

So if you need a '58 arm from a vacuum motor, MotherTrucker (Joe out of Tucson) may have one... I think he mostly does the AD stuff, but may have one laying around...

Folks are just trying to help. 47-59 trucks include two different body designs, AD and TF. Within TF trucks there are two different design motors. A motor designed to duplicate a 55-57 electric motor will not fit the 58-59 trucks.
