79-81 auxilary door weatherstrip?

anyone have any pics of the auxilary weatherstrip on their 79-81 silverado? lmc and classic both show it, just wanna see a pic of how it fit on the factory trucks. with the door closed and how it fits on the door. thanks.

sure was hoping to see a pic of this. not sure if I wanna order those, or just get some stickon bulb stuff from mcmaster. I got a feeling If I can close the gap in the front door/windshield post area it won't have so much wind noise above 65mph. gets annoying on long trips. all the new trucks have a rubber seal that fills in that area when the door is shut.

My 77 1 ton has it, but it's dark so pic's won't do much good. It also has the rubber inbetween the door n cab by hinge area as well. I think it makes a worlda difference.

Well I ordered some, but can't figure out how its supposed to mount, and can't find any instructions. it has a flat area with double side tape on it, and across from that is an area thats dished in the center, with two sharp edge sticking out on either side, and one side sticks out further by 1/8th of an inch. anyone know how this installs? would love to see a pic so I get it right.

Hi,

I am wanting to do the same. I already have them but with no sticking side. So When the taller edge is upwards, there seems to be a little distance from the flange, did I see that correct?.
And how doe sit sit in the hinge area? Anyone have a pic of that area?.

it does make a big difference! I can actually talk in my truck over 70 now!

Oh my god it does! I tried it yesterday (with tape not firmly in place) but it maken a huge difference !.
But somehow i wonder, why isn,t it wider? Maybe it could be even more silent? I mean still there is About half An inch space between door and frame?
You also have That?
Maybe a weatherstrip of another car or a custom strip is the way to go?

yeah Mine seals up tight, but still leaves a gap at the edge of the door. I feel like if it was a bulb seal that filled the door gap up around the edge it would be much quieter.

i will be on the look-out for either a larger seal or one that fist next to this one. Maybe our rides can even be comfy ;-)
