steering play
have a 48 gmc 1/2 ton, 6cyl. took truck out for first time, and seem to have a bit of play in my steering, I would say maybe moving wheel 4 inches before you see it starts to turn, not sure what it would be, need suggestions, thanks pete,

Assuming your front end parts (tie rod ends, wheel bearings, king pins, etc.) are in good shape, there is an adjustment on most steering boxes to help take up some play. If your box is not completely worn out, you might be able to get some of the play out there.

Careful adjusting the boxes as you can mess them up if you tighten them down to hard. I would look for loose parts first, then worn parts, cracked frame mounts, etc.
