Engine harness HELP needed

1966 truck with 1984 V8
Little lost on what color goes we're
The way I see it
Blue to stater hot side to battery
Purple to starter small post
Yellow from starter small post to + HEI distributor
White ? To + side distributor
Dark green and light green have a plug at the end ???
Any help would be great I have a copy of the wiring schematic and still lost

There is a dark green to AC, light green is also i think temp sender? Some pics would help a ton, i just did mine and could probably help. Also, there are wiring diagrams posted on this site somewhere and they help immensly. Lastly, you are assuming that prior owners didn't hack everything up

The light and dark green wires that share a plug are for temp sender with dual lights(cool and hot)
With and HEI distributor , there's no need for the yellow wire from the starter "R" post to distributor.
The White wire is actually the original resistor wire to the points type coil +. This should not be used to power your HEI- the low voltage will cause early failure, if it will start at all. This should be replaced with 12 gauge wire from that plug in. (The other side is regular wire to the ignition switch.
Purple to starter "S" post
Blue is the original oil pressure sender wire for warning light dash(without gauge)
