Self-Expressive Interiors

When it comes to interiors it seems most of the subscribers to this forum fall in one of three groups:

• Keep it original even if its rag tag
• Restore it to like-original
• Modify for comfort (radio, A/C, gauges, etc) but still keep it subdued

In fact it appears that most subscriber's are actually anti-glitzy.

So I understand I am taking a risk at asking to see examples of wild self-expression when it comes to truck interiors.

But what the hell -

Let's see your wild, artistic, and unique interiors - interiors utilizing license plates, posters, signs, decals, stickers, art, animal hides, rugs, you name it.

This is for those brave individuals that don't mind letting the world know their interests or think their truck is the perfect place to surround themselves with their things that express who they are!

These are not mine (mine is still in works-but very close!) but jumping off point examples.....

My 65. Calf hide upper, lower riser covwrs and shift boot. 1" deep pleat leather, heated , sculpted 97 c10 seat with the base chopped 2" and a canvas lined shotgun sleeve for my wife along with detail puch and jumper cable pouch.

Mine falls somewhere in the middle. Far from stock, but nothing outlandish like my old S10 interiors used to be.

'66 with some "different" details

twisted shifter with Resin glitter knob, and custom knee-panels


Flip up center console with 6.5" components, crossovers, and an amp housed inside. It also has a shelf and storage.


Procar seats and custom door panels, as well as one-off lower door cards to match, and speakers housing. Grant wheel with Tilt column




Gauge panel to work with my swap. Mix of digital and analog. PBR caps blanking out the switches (which are now a toggle-panel next to this assembly)


Not pictured, be we also have a custom rear-wall cover, the above mentioned switch panel, and sunvisors in blue vinyl that matches that shift knob.

I went with the cheap theam... 50 doller craigslist Rover seats , an old center console I had and an Ebay carpet kit that I got for 65.00.

Thanks they are out of a Land Rover I have not hooked up the electrics yet but they work, and they are very comfortable too

my truck before the tear down i need to take a picture of the inside of the roof with all my stickers,my cousin and i started a sticker farm and it kinda got out of hand

I'd take a chance and say the first two examples are professional jobs, or at least executed by individuals with a refined aesthetic.
Great to see a strong dose of personal creativity applied in a manner which transcends typical "folk" impulse.

Mine’s is certainly unique, kind of like early hot rod meets classic/brass era, mixed in with a little aircraft inspiration. Diamond tufting on all the panels including behind the seats, and Diamond stitching on the seats (and soon the sunvisors), and a few sparkles thrown in for good measure. There isn’t a ton of money in it, but the labor is a different category!

markeb01 takes the cake, mine was just me screwing around with a bunch of leftover parts, but thanks your one of the ones who gets it. as for markeb01 his truck is one of my all time favorites out of all of the trucks on hear his is the most unique truck to me. im not a step side guy but there is something about it that i love, its like the 2 lane black top 55 as a truck it is just bad a$$!

That is way cool - I am sure you have story for every sticker and off beat item. I understand it's not everyone's cup of beer but it shows personality.

I never quite understood those that want their ride to look like everyone else's or the way Chevy sold it.

To my way of thinking Chevy wanted us to make our trucks personal.
I remember back in the 50s and 60s the first thing a young man did to his first ride was "make it his own".

It seems now conformity is the rule

its a lot of trips to the junkyard, i am the guy that buys stuff just because i think its neat looking then ends up finding a use for it some where.
its not that i dont like nice things or the guy that makes there truck perfect, its just not me.i just never cared what anyone has thought of me and usually do things intentionally different. while every one laughs at me for being different i laugh at them for being all the same.
