216 to 235 compatible parts
Hello all, this is my first post, but I have been reading and learning so much for the last few months. I have a 1949 Chevy half ton, 216, but I have a 235 out of a 57 Chev truck that I want to install. I read about mounts, but I am struggling with info on what I can re-use. The 235 has no fuel pump, distributor, etc. I have a water pump but can I use the fan off of the 216? Thanks.

Re: 216 to 235 compatible parts
You might cruise over to stovebolts.com they are more stock orientated and have a ton of information. Also inlinner.org for making sixes sing.... I grew up with both engine series and do not remember swaping many parts from one to the other, mostly replacing the babbet bearing 216 with newer 235 or the bigger GMC sixes.
