bucket seat interiors

Plan on using bucket seats in my truck, just not sure which kind and what kind of console id use, its gonna be a floor shift auto truck. Suggestions and pics of your guys' interiors are appreciated

I used buckets from a 3005 Silverado in my 70 gmc. Easy install and they are comfortable. Drivers is power. No console yet. One issue is space between the steering wheel and me. Once I convert to p/s I will get a smaller wheel.

Hanly2, those look like the '04 Silverado seats I put in mine, except I got the middle jump seat instead of the console. The integrated seat belts were the selling point to me since the seats were cheaper delivered than buying a full set of belts for mine. As stated before, they are comfortable, but they do sit too far forward. I'm 6'0 230, so I could stand some extra room.

Yeah. I'm 6'3" and 260, so I can use all the room I can get

why not the stock 67-68 buddy buckets? someone with a 67-8 might be able to let you know if it will clear the auto floor shifter. stock rocks! Ha.

Stocks nice and all, was just lookin for somethin to hold my heavy a** in place lol so was wonderin what late model seats people have used. Powers nice, heated is a nice option but not necessary. Prolly won't drive it much in the winter with all the snow n salt here

I would try some 95-99 buckets might need to re upholster them but there are tons available probably 95% of all suburbans and yukons/tahoes had them. Shouldn't be as bulky as the later model stuff

I did see a 40/20/40 from like a 2013 that the guy had redone and chopped the tops off to the same height of the center console fold down deal and it looked sharp

Later model seats are definitely more supportive, but the stock buckets are like sitting on your own little sofa. Still comfy for big people (at least I'm 6'2" and didn't mind them). Just don't turn a corner hard unless you're ready to use the door panel or console to brace yourself :-)

I would imagine a bigger problem would be the steering wheel. I'm just at that point where I put the wheel on yesterday and when I put the seat back it's going to be tight. I know they ate better and worked harder than we do today, but those dudes must have all been skinny because the wheel is really in your gut.

Which reminds me of what one of the guys from the movie remake of Dukes of Hazard said about the original: "Those guys must have done a lot of coke in the 70s to stay skinny enough to fit through those windows. They're not as big as you think".

I had some seats out of a 90's lumina mini van and a 70's blazer console in my old 72 I really liked it.

I like the look of the Silverado seats, they look comfy. The only pet peeve of mine is the seat belt retractor in the shoulder, it ruins the flow of the interior. I was thinkin about the 94-6 impala Ss seats with console, cept id have to recover them in black. I dunno random thought.

My buddies grandpa owns a salvage yard which is where we come up with and work on our derby cars. I suppose when the time for seats comes I'll have to look around out there and find some buckets to convert. I'll be hanging around on here to see some ideas also.

Just thought I'd mention a source not likely to be thought of------late model S60 Volvo. My brother picked up a virtually perfect set from a salvage yard for $200 and put them in his 2nd gen S10 pickup. All kinds of power adjust, heat, and the perfect combination of fit, support, and comfort, at least to my 180lb a**. When installed they seemed to sit a bit higher than the stockers, but that might be desirable in our trucks, can't say for sure. Might be worth a test sit if the chance presents itself.

S-10 floor shifter. I have it hooked up so if I park it some place I don't like I can make it impossible to take it out of park. Even if they get it cranked it want come out.

Here is what I am using for now. Dodge Intrepid power seats and Ford F150 console. The console is cavernous! Very comfortable seats and if I decide to keep them, I will cut the backs down 2 inches and reupholster them.
