Re: Hey Ummm

This may not be all that easy unless you have the VIN. Washington state requires new plates every 7 years to make sure the reflective properties still work. It is likely the truck won't have the same plate numbers all these years later unless the owner paid extra to keep them. And DMV generally won't offer any help unless you have some official assistance from police authorities or a private detective. They are required to protect owner privacy from those with potential bad intent.

Re: Hey Ummm

What you need is the vin. An old registration of copy of an insurance policy would have it. Then you could run a car fax on the vin and see the last state it was in. It could be anywhere. Even Texas. I can tell yo that in Virginia the only way DMV would give out an address is a court order. Police have access to the data base for current tags or vin numbers.

Re: Hey Ummm

The vin and good pictures flooding an add on Craigslist looking for it is most likely the only way to find it now after the securities laws. Unless, as mentioned, a crime was committed in or with it and the Police get involved. The DMV is also about as helpfull as the sign " free beer tomorrow"

Re: Hey Ummm

You won't be able to find it with the Car Fox. They only have a database for 1981 and newer vehicles with the 17 character VIN.

As stated several times, you really need the VIN. I found the previous seller of my 65 Mustang through a google VIN search.
