picked a real nice 64 LWB
After looking for a month I drove 600 miles one way to look at three trucks. I wasnt going home with a empty trailer. The first one was a 64 SWB fleet side. It was ok but not great. Second was a 64 that was a heap of CRAP!!!!! But the third one was the charm. I will try to post some pictures....truck is super solid. Cab mounts and inner fenders are perfect.

Re: picked a real nice 64 LWB
This last one is one of the ones I was going to buy. Loved the truck but way to rusty for me.
The truck I got is Spot-Less under it. Cab mounts, box cross braces and frame are MINT!!!! |

Re: picked a real nice 64 LWB
The green one I passed up. The one on the trailer I bought. And yes sir it is about 99% original. It was a six cylinder three on the tree when it began life. It now has a 283 .030 over with some kind of a huge cam. Sounds really good.

Re: picked a real nice 64 LWB
So now I need to ask a few questions. If you guys had 66 Impala questions im a whiz. These trucks not so much. So are all these trucks from the factory tan colored inside. The outside was turqoise but the inside is a brown tan color. Whats the deal? Will that brake booster give me power brakes? It looks like matching holes in the fire wall.

The brake booster was probably removed because the cam didn't make enough vacuum for the booster to really do anything. |

Re: picked a real nice 64 LWB
The same color they used in the cars was Fawn. I just think it doesn't go to well with the green. The booster has never been on the truck. It was in the tool box. I think it is the correct one. Just talk to the guy the booster was given to him. He isn't sure what it fits.

Not sure on the booster, but I doubt it'll do too much anyway if it's got a lumpy cam that doesn't pull any vacuum. |

Re: picked a real nice 64 LWB
Yes it has a real lumpy cam. I will throw a vacuum gauge on it and see what it has. It also has a 2,800 stall converter. They said the motor was in a drag car. It has headers and nice full exhaust to the back bumper.

Re: picked a real nice 64 LWB
