Easy to widen rear inner fender?

I would like to widen the rear inner fenders by 2-3 inches. My initial thought was to split in down the middle and add a 2-3 inch strip of metal. I don't have any donor fender to salvage from.

Thanks for your input!

You can do it that way but it is a lot of welding. I just got a second set and went that route. Still a lot of welding but came out good.

I agree. Instead of 4 welds do 2. Buy an extra set.

Re: Easy to widen rear inner fender?

Top Bannana had the cheapest price when I was shopping. The fit great!

I still have my old ones if you can't find anything. They are crusty...

Top Bannana was $78 per fender.. That's not bad at all. Thanks for the tip!

How much wider are those than stock? I want to run an 18x10 inch wheel with wide tires and assume this would be the best way to do that.

Do you just cut the one piece of wood more to make them fit as well?

Re: Easy to widen rear inner fender?

Sorry for the confusion. They are stock width replacements. I took out originals that had rusty flanges. The wood pattern is stock.

Here's the before:
