LS Swap Help:
I currently have a sb350 in my truck now, I am leaning towards turning it into a 383 stroker or should I do a 5.3 with a 4l60e swap with a few aftermarket things done to that? Im trying to stay in the $2500-2800 range if possible, am I able to do a 5.3 swap for the same price or cheaper than a 383? If so does anybody know any shops around the Houston area that are reliable and good prices or someone that could do it on the side? Thanks!

Re: LS Swap Help:
If your doing it yourself, the price range is do-able. either way!
But if you want a shop to do the swap\upgrade it will cot you $1k just to R&R the motor. I would find me the motor, complete with everything. I would probably purchase one from http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=614503 these would be complete and ready to drop in, all you would need is fuel delivery, mounts, cooling and air. If you did the 383, you would be out similar money but not near as much fabing and changing stuff around as an LS swap.

Re: LS Swap Help:
I live in cypress. I've done a few of these swaps and know where to get what you need around here. I might be ablaze to help.

Re: LS Swap Help:
It all depends on how nicely you do the swap. I'm doing these routinely, lately, and the minimum parts spend, for what I consider acceptable quality, is about $4k. Labor is usually 40-100 hours, depending on options. It's all dependant on what you include. I fully update the cooling system, fuel system, and integrate factory A/C, cruise and electric fans, plus a full exhaust.
