At my wits end and then some...
Pictured below is the steering wheel I have in the '54 Chevy truck. Also pictured below is the horn contact spring unit that is supposed to fit. It doesn't and I don't know why. The contact spring unit is 1 3/4" long and from what I can figure out I need one that is 2 1/8" long. Tried to jury rig it and burned up the horn. Literally. Had to pour a can of soda on it to put it out. Any suggestions?

I had the same issue, did some research and found the same looking contact but with one pin much longer. Look at www. zip-corvette.com. I'm kinda cheap so I took the plastic housing apart (top snaps off) cut the threads off a brass bolt and filed down the head to match the shorter one it came with, works great.

That's Not being cheap - it's custom adaptive fabrication.

What Don said. right at the root of hot-rodding IMO.
Glad you posted this Sweets. I just bought a repop wheel like that, now I'm forwarned about issues. Thanks. Were you following right behind a large group of Hells Angels when the horn got stuck on? |

rrenner, I did the same thing you did but I guess not as well because that's what caused my horn to burn up. But, thanks. I ordered the one from Zip-Corvette in spite of the cost.
Tmoble - nope I was in front of them but they couldn't keep up with me!
