LMC Fuel Tank Questions
I have a 1971 c10
Was looking to install the LMC Blazer fuel tank conversion w/ side fill. I had a few questions before I buy. 1. Do you have to modify the frame to clear the side fill? 2. The side fill is a 21 gal and the top fill is a 17 gal. There is a 1" difference in height on the two tanks. Is the 1" setting closer to the ground or the bed? 3. Any pics showing height difference? 4. What is the diameter of the fill tube and vent tube? 5. I was looking at using a Late model ford fill neck (the ones with fill through cap) and hide it behind the side marker light. Has anyone tried this? 6. Is there a different (low cost) option that i should look at? |

Re: LMC Fuel Tank Questions
i had to grind away a little of the chassis to make it clear and the bed crossmember on my long bed to be modified also and the tire hanger bar had to be cut out. i not sure if the short bed is the same. the show trucks did the conversion on one a couple of years ago you might want to check it out at powernationtv.com.

Re: LMC Fuel Tank Questions
In the video it appears they had clearance issues with the bed.
Is this common? Or should it be a simple bolt in? |

Re: LMC Fuel Tank Questions
yes with the bed floor support. it has to be cut down some to clear the top of the tank.

Re: LMC Fuel Tank Questions
Just finished the 17gal in bed tank with a pop-up filler. It'll be flush when I can finish the bed.

Re: LMC Fuel Tank Questions
With having to cut and modify the bed it makes the Boyd tank a little more appealing?
