Re: need help with frame identification
Part number shows it was discontinued in 1981 Parts Book at GMPartsWiki.
Dec 13 1972 production would be for a 1973. I'm guessing here.

Re: need help with frame identification
The front frame horns are different from 65 and the front cab mounts look to be homemade to..

Re: need help with frame identification
I agree on a '73 K10 frame and running gear.
With that newer frame, there must have been about a 3" body lift to make the body sit on the frame correctly. Before you go any further, check the vehicle laws in AZ and make sure you won't have an issue later on with having a cab and frame with different VIN's

Re: need help with frame identification
that is a blazer chassis. 74 p/u is about 117" and what you need is 115". let's see a picture of your truck sitting on the frame. wheels will be way off centre

Re: need help with frame identification
From the looks of this thread, it appears there are a number of you who know something about frame numbers. Please help if you can.
GMC did not put vins on frames like chevy trucks in the mid 60's. So the only reference I have is the frame part number on the side of frame under each door. Can anyone tell me what year GMC frame I have (somewhere between 64 and 70). Thanks gentlemen. Frame part number under driver's door is 2443631 2 25 77 67. under passenger door, its 2443630 2 26 77 67 FYI, GM Heritage Center and a big wig from GM Parts plant was unable to help. It would be great if someone from this forum could identify the year of my frame. Oh yea, its a swb (115 inches). Looks identical to a 64 frame in a GMC manual. It has standard drums and 8 leafs in rear. |

Re: need help with frame identification
Sorry for hijacking this thread. I just found it very interesting that some of you could actually respond to a question on frame ID. I had closed the book on my research. Great forum!
