cab differences?
Is there any difference between a 67-72 cab itself? Besides a small window 67?

Re: cab differences?
The hole in the fire wall is different for 67-68 harnesses. Also the mounts are different for the parking brake and the gas pedal.

Re: cab differences?
Yes there are differences between the cabs, but the body lines are all the same, so any 67-72 cab can be use with any other 67-72 body or frame, but you may need to make some mods for everything to work.
* 72 cabs the rear view mirror is on the windshield, and no boss on the roof for the mirror. * 71-72 have a vent in the DS door pillar and the vin tag is mounted higher. They also have a cable for the throttle so there are differences to do with that. * 71 cabs have a boss on the roof for the rear view mirror. * 67-maybe 68 have a different size hole for the fuse block, and different hole for the throttle rod set up. * A/C vs non A/C cabs are different. * 67 and some 68 small rear window. * High floor hump vs low. I'm sure there’s more that other people will mention, but any of these cabs can work ! Gary

Re: cab differences?
Thanks guys. I've been offered my choice of 3 cabs, the original 68, a 72 and a 70. Forgot about the mirror. Hmm could do the 72 with earlier doors and mess with people that know the differences lol

Re: cab differences?
The general public would never know the difference, but there's guys on here that could tell every little detail !!!! "LOL"
If your truck is a 68, and the 68 cab is in good shape, that would be my choice ! Gary

Re: cab differences?
Yeah that would bug me. Heck if I see a 72 and the mirror is on the roof I know the cab has been swapped. "LOL"

Re: cab differences?
69-72 have a cargo light.
Keep in mind that some states require the Vin plate on the cab to match the numbers on the frame so you need to call the DMV and find out what the regulations are. |

Re: cab differences?
Well I have a one ton cab that I want to put on a 70 C20 ? Will there be issues? I have cab lights on the top of the one ton, think it may have come from a tow truck.
