Bucket seat foam install?
Anyone have pics of the seat back foam install? Need to see the bottom of the back of the seat. Not sure if the foam tucks in the inside or comes around underneath.

Re: Bucket seat foam install?
I make no claim this is right, as they messed it up in a number of other ways (threw away all the springs and clips and paperclip looking things... grrr) so I'm reworking them. But this is how the foam was installed on them.

Re: Bucket seat foam install?
Adding the additional burlap is nice, not all upholsterers do that.

Re: Bucket seat foam install?
Davepl, isn't that pic the seat bottom? I think I figured that out. It's the bottom of the seat back that's got me puzzled

Re: Bucket seat foam install?
Yes, sorry, I thought your photo was of the bottom, but looking closer I see it's the back. Glad you figured it out, as I don't have a way to get a photo of the back.

Re: Bucket seat foam install?
What's the purpose of it? Other than catching foam that dries up and falls off, not sure why they use it at all.

Re: Bucket seat foam install?
That is it's purpose. If you have new foam I guess it won't matter until about 40 years from now. The webbing that comes on new foam is thin, so I would think it also keeps the springs from digging into it.

Re: Bucket seat foam install?
If I recall correctly..My BB's foam had pockets. Been a while.. But the shop installed mine. Once covered this isn't visible.
Someone who does this for a living should be able to point you in the right direction. PM the vendor who sells the foam n covers..
