20" Wheels for a 1965 C-10--Info needed

I just bought a 1965 C-10 with a service bed and want to put on some 20" wheels (6 lug); maybe Boss 338 (gray with polished lip). Tires; 275/45 in the rear and 255/55 in the front. I have been searching and cant find many pics of 60-66 trucks with 20" wheels plus info (size, width, tire used, any issues, etc.!). Any info would be appreciated. What worked? What didn't? Will wheels from new model GM trucks fit? I plan on doing a mild 3"-4" drop. Thanks guys

Here's a good thread of many wheels used by others. Not sure if any apply to what you are looking for but plenty of inspiration there to see.

Also I think the choice of wheels may be broader with a 5 lug conversion. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

Re: 20" Wheels for a 1965 C-10--Info needed

I have a set of the Torque thrust wheels in 20 X 8.5 that were on my 65. They have a 5/\.5 backspacing for the new model trucks. I had to turn the snout on the rear axles to fit the new style wheels and the front was 73 to 87 disc brakes with the aftermarket rotors and they did fine on the front have 305's on the rear and the setup needed wider wheel tubs on a fleet side setup. Going to sell that set and go to 17's and a lot smaller tires to fit the air ride setup better. So that size for your setup should work ok. Hope that helped.
