67-68 Emergency Brake Cover Install
i picked up a cover for the e-brake in my 67 a while back. My truck did not originally have one but I would like to install it now. I can see where it will need to go, and how it will need two holes drilled. I would like it to look as original as possible, so I am looking for fastener info. Is it held on with self-tapping screws? Bolts and nuts? Some other type of fastener? It looks like there is not good access to the back so I am thinking something that does not require access from the rear.
Thanks in advance. Adam |

It takes two screws just like the ones that hold the column seal at the dash bezel. They have the large flat pan head and 1/2 long or less

Please post as pic of this if you can (anybody). I don't even know what an e-brake cover is.

Re: 67-68 Emergency Brake Cover Install
I believe they only came on CST's. I see they are now available as reproductions for about $30. I thought it would be a nice dress-up item and was somewhat rare when I bought this some time back.

Re: 67-68 Emergency Brake Cover Install
It is in deed held on by self tapping screws and a CST thing. Here's my under/over shot. Sorry about the blurriness, it is past 9 and dark out after all

Re: 67-68 Emergency Brake Cover Install
Very helpful! Thanks!
I noticed it looks like yours has bolts holding the column cover and brake cover vs. mine has screws holding the column cover. I wonder if that is a change from 67 to 68. Unless I just cant see well in the pic and they actually are screws. I think I will pull a column cover screw and try to match it up for my brake cover. Thanks again for the help! Adam |
