Am/fm radio presets?

I have a am/fm radio without cassette or anything else in my 82 silverado, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to set the presets on it.

I don't have a picture, but I'll describe it. It has the 2 main knobs, a seek, scan, and 4-5 preset buttons in the middle, and bass and treble sliding adjusters just above the scan button

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

If I remember right you just go to the station you want and hold the button down for a few and it sets or there is a set button you go tot he station press set then hold down the preset button you want that at

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

I think you dial into each station and press and hold down one of the preset tabs for a few seconds or so to set that station to that button. Go to the next station using your dial and pick another preset tab and do the same........ so on and so on.

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

If you push two at the same time that's another preset. Example 1-2, 1-4, 2-6 so on.

No, you dial the stations in then you pull the buttons out and then push them back in to set the stations.

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

It's not hard to take a picture. Doesn't sound like a factory radio. You didn't say needle or digital. I don't think the digital was available in '82. Needle wouldn't have seek or scan. So it wouldn't look like mine, which you pull the button.

Thats it! I have a mint condition AM/FM preset radio out of my uncle's 79 Caprice Classic, it's quite an interesting radio.

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

But the OP was describing something other than what came in these trucks, like Sean pointed out. (maybe in later years...)

Eraser475, got a brand or photo?

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

One appears to have a cassette player, which he said he does not have, and one isn't even a titty knob.

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

Sorry about the wait, as I've been a little busy the past few days, but I did snap a picture today:

I will try the pulling method later, the push and hold just changes the station.

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

Man I was way off. But it sure sounded like the one I picked. I just figured someone hacked the dash up and installed a later model radio.

Re: Am/fm radio presets?

The pulling the buttons worked! Thanks guys! My radio screen likes to flicker between the time and the station, anyone know a fix for that other than wiggling wires inside of the radio?

Mine flickerd sometimes too,I used compressed air to blow out dirt over all seemed to stop.
I think the right knob goes time/station when pushed in
left is AM/FM.
mine is stereo, but I don't have a balance control,do you?
I does have a fader and tone tho

I have a fader and balance; one on each knob. The right knob pushes in and switches to am or fm, and I haven't tried to push in the left knob yet.
