Which type shifter?
I need to buy a floor shifter for the TH400 I'm putting in my '65 and, I'm wondering if I should get a linkage type shifter or, a cable operated type. I'm thinking a cable operated shifter would allow you more options for location but, does a linkage type have better feel and shifting characteristics? Any opinions would be appreciated.

Re: Which type shifter?
I used to run a B&M Megashifter and I thought it was great. I hammered the dogwater out of that thing and it never gave up. Positive feel and never a missed shift due to its ratchet design. If I were ever gonna go floor shifter for a turbo tranny again, I would for sure get another one.

Re: Which type shifter?
We install a bunch of those Lokar linkage style shifters and their fine as long as you don't plan to race or manually shift it often. But since I enjoy shifting and racing for that matter a cable style like this B&M Shifter: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-81052/overview/ is what I plan to use. I'm keeping my bench and making a shifter stand that will also hold my switches and have two cup holders in it.

Re: Which type shifter?
Sure, I notice they make a megashifter in truck height, but mine was the car height because my floor was a high hump. It was around knee level with that combo if I recall correctly.
