carb for '66 chevy 250
what is the best carb to replace the stock carb? i don't want to change the intake. the truck runs good just needs a little more fuel and air.

they have a adapter plate that you can use a 2bbl on a 1bbl intake

I picked one up at O reilly's auto parts to replace the stock one and it worked perfect. I think it was like $200.00

Trans adapt adapter and 350 holley 2 barrel. Plug and play..bolt on and go.

I just installed Tom Langdon's Weber 32/36 on my rebuilt 250 I purchased from him as well and it runs great. Smooth accelleration, great idle, starts up with one turn of the key. I would also suggest an upgrade to his HEI Distributor.

Another vote for Langdon's weber 32/36. Put one on my 230 and it runs like a champ. Smooth acceleration and actually decent punch when the secondaries open up. Decent mileage if ya roll around town with the primaries all day.
The one and okay drawback is that I couldn't figure out how to set the choke up properly for cold winter mornings...but that is likely more the operator than the carb. |
