Epoxy Primer
Does anyone know of a good way to take epoxy primer off without using a grinder......lol?

Hi Pimpston65, Yeah I have been using a 60 grit wheel, and a wire wheel. The wire wheel works about the best I guess. I tried some Zip strip and it would not even touch it. It takes the paint right off but the primer underneath just laughs at it.........

I've got some of these that are 7" set up on an electric grinder. I was really happy with the way that they removed some surface rust without really damaging the sheetmetal below. They have embedded grit in the plastic. We tried switching to these at work as a replacement for the old school wire cup brushes since they shed wires.

hugger6933, The reason I am removing it is that the PO covered some bad spots that were rusted and he just bondo'd over them. Also there were some major dents that he used about a 1/2-3/4" of bondo instead of bringing the dents out some. By removing it I will know what is fixed and what is not. Maybe overkill but as long as I am spending the time to try and do it right I might as well take it down. But boy am I tried of sanding....lol. I have used the green disc's. They are quite good.

that stuff is a nightmare to get off, I've had to take off some someone didn't put in the right amount of hardner and it was a little gummy on top of the hard surface it was gummy underneath. Bad deal all around. Stripper may be an option although I almost always adivse against its use. The other is just keep at it and whop it down a little at a time and know it is gonna take a roll of paper to do. Jim
