Anybody got pics of how they Installed their fuel tank neck and cap to the rear of the bed?

Depends what fuel tank filler tubes size is on the tank, some are small tubes such as 1 1/2 diameter and some tanks are 2 to 2 1/2. Filler caps also vary in size but are normally attached to tank with gas rubber hose with clamps. For mine I bought a threaded gas cap with a bung from SoCal speed shop that I can weld tubing to like an exhaust tubing for the correct size. The prices vary on these filler tubes at the store from $40 to high tech billet ones with all the bells and whistles for $250.

Rear tank, fleetside bed, side fill. Dodge Caravan donor door.

Did this on my 48. Tank is a top fill from Tanks.

The fill surround was a chrome plated sink drain from the hardware store. Cut the center out with a lathe then the top and bottom portions of the drain screwed together sandwiching the board.

Outstanding look, Advanced Design. I like it for my truck. Ingenious to use the sink flange. I don't have a lathe but I imagine I could file out the opening to fit. Kind of a pain but it doesn't seem like I'd have to remove all that much?

Can you tell us what the tank number is you bought from Tanks, Inc?

Thanks guys - Dan the sink drain cost $17 and worked pretty well. It was a bit tight to the fill cap.

Thanks for the fast response. That tank drops in from the top and bolts directly to the frame upper flange, right? My only concern about that is IF I ever needed to drop the tank, I'd have to remove the bed or least loosen and raise it.

That tank is priced exactly same price as the Tanks, Inc. Universal tank

You can use a 67-68 Camaro tank if you want a side fill or a 69 Camaro for a rear fill. I used a 67-68 and did the side fill out the rear fender on a 50

I tried the universal you mentioned and it extended too low. This tank was raised up on a support...and would probably have to remove the bed to remove the tank. Could probably build around that issue.

Hmm, like a spacer between the tank and the upper frame flange? I haven't looked lately but there doesn't seem to be too much space there. Maybe an inch?

But I suppose every bit would help to minimize seeing the tank from the rear.
