75 GMC small block 350 carb question

got a 75 motorhome with all stock 350 in it. has a quad jet carb that needs rebuilt. you all think a 2 barrel would hurt it power wise if I swapped out the quad jet with a 2 barrel? can get a 2 barrel for a good deal from summit.

Re: 75 GMC small block 350 carb question

A deuce will probably hurt mileage. The Qjet has small primaries, which gives better carburetion and good mileage due to the higher stack velocity for a given flow rate. The deuce will also hurt power at high rpms, because you will just run out of cfm.

Best is to rebuild the Qjet. Lots of info on how to do that, particularly the books by Cliff Ruggles and Doug Roe. All the parts are available and cheap.
