1970 6.0 4l80e swap.

Picked up a 6.0 4l80e 2wd parts truck. Going to be putting the drivetrain in my 1970 c10. Was just wondering if the 4l80e would fit fine without having to modify the trans tunnel. Also would my factory colum shifter work for the gear selector on the 4l80e. My truck is a 350/th350 factory.

My 6.0 with 4L80E worked out just fine. Nothing done to the tunnel.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I have a S-10 floor shifter for over drive. it works great to!Sorry I can't help you on a stock auto shifter.

When I did my 68 LeMans convert,[I know apples to oranges sort of] I changed my shifter a his/hers shifter to work with the overdrive. These columns are changed all the time to work with overdrive shifters by changing the lenses in the shift pointer. I have done Several of the LS swaps and did my first a long time ago like 07/08. you will be very happy with it. i have never ran across anyone who wished that had not done it. Jim

I have no experience but pretty sure you will need a high hump like found in manuals and th400 trucks

I also am pretty sure with the right connections underneath you can retain your stock column

No high hump needed.

I'm doing a turbo 5.3/4L80E and it fits just fine, regardless of setback. And I've got mine setback as far as I can..

Indeed. Flipped and facing forward obviously. A 2.5" V-band welds nicely to the manifold after cutting off the flange.

I've never fabricated a turbo kit before, but making that was a lot of fun and very rewarding. Hope to finish fabricating everything in the next couple weeks.

If you use a Lokar or equivalent gear selector kit, you should be able to use the factory column.
