I know what everyone is going to say, use the search bar on the forum or Google, but I have a question about the paint codes. My truck says 500AA and I know 500 is for black is for black but what does the AA stand for?

Don't be frustrated alone cause we are too. The two letters following the digit code is unknown for the trucks so far. From all the literature I have there's no mention of how these letters were used. After looking through the dealer invoices I have there seems to be a corrrelation to the way the truck is built. For example 500AA could mean that the main body is black but as a standard order all wheels came black. If you had a two tone the wheels would be main body color. Blue main body blue wheels with a whitevtop. No two tone then the wheels came black. I would assime the letters would change to indicate to the installer the correct combination. Rember I'm assuming here and could be way off. But isn't the mystery fun! Lol

My '63 is Omaha Orange (I believe) and a white top and the wheels are orange.

544 is Cardinal Red and Cameo White.
