got a ? body swap
Ok here it is i just bought a 72 chevy and a 69 gmc .The question is that the 72 has much rust and body damage but disk breaks and five lug. While the 69 GMC is rust free and dent free but has drums and 6 lug . Would it be easer to swap frount ends or just swap bodys on thease two . I have never done a body swap or a frount end swap . Whaat am i looking at pros and cons either way plz. nether have moter or tranny so will be in the market for those soon this is for my 17 yr old step son. I thank you for you help

If it was me I would swap front and rear end's the fron cross member simply unbolt's and you replaze it with the disk clip.. As long as the rear are both coil or leaf . Rear axle swapping will be easy if they are both the same.

I would think swapping the front crossmember and suspension from the 72 to the 69 as an assembly would be the easiest. The crossmember is just bolted in and with the engine out should give you no problem. The brake master cylinder, prop valve, booster and possibly a few brake lines would also need to be swapped. The rear ends are an easy swap if they are both coil rear suspensions.

Agreed.
Although, if you swap bodies, then you candetail the frame pretty nicely. (and here comes the snow ball effect) |

well, your talking about the front crossmember and the suspension. what about the rear? the 2 are different also. i would take the body of the 69 GMC and place it on the frame of the 72 Chevy. just my opinion about saving yourself some headache later.
