MII crossmember- what else do I need?
I found this on ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1947-1954-Ch...a19ea4&vxp=mtr I found a guy selling MII - arms/spindles/calipers/rotors/springs etc. for a good price locally. Can I change out the calipers/rotors/spindles so I can run Chevy parts? Anyone have experience doing this? I can't afford to drop $2K into the front end and would like to keep the stock chassis. My other option is an S10 chassis. My truck is apart and cab is off the frame ready to either do an S10 swap or clean it up and put it back with updated MII. Thanks again in advance. |

You can swap out the rotors and calipers for a "big" brake kit with gm bolt pattern. Or get stock replacement rotors with the gm pattern (I don't recommend this due to the small size of stock brakes). You'll need a steering rack as well. If you are planning on using the stock lower A-arms, you'll need to fabricate some strut rod mounts. I'd highly recommend going to tubular A-arms for the strength and no strut rod to deal with. But I understand a budget build as well.

if it's a oem mustII it will have 4 lugs and tiny disks and calipers

You can modify the lower part of the X member to take the better tubular lower control arms using tubing and gussets. If using the stock stuff, as mentioned, you'll have to do a strut rod mount. I have an almost new set of calipers, rotors & hubs for the M-2 I'll sell you cheap, depending on where you are in AZ. I don't necessarily recommend it but it would get you by cheap until you could upgrade.
