Windshield rubber seal quality...
I'm going to be installing a new windshield in my '67 since mine is fogged 6" all around the edges. What is a good quality brand and or vendor for the seal?

Re: Windshield rubber seal quality...
I have been using the ones from GMC Pauls and the fit is great. Installation is easier then other seals that I have installed.

The 60-66 crowd swears by Precision brand. I plan to order one for my 65.

Re: Windshield rubber seal quality...
I just installed a new windshield in my 69 using a Precision gasket from GMCPauls. I am very happy with the way it fits; nice and snug all around.

Re: Windshield rubber seal quality...
LOL, Steele Rubber sells Precision made windshield seals so you paid a Premium to buy the seal from Steele Rubber. Steele Rubber only makes door weatherstrip, hood bumpers and door bumpers for the 67-72 model trucks. Everything else is precision or another manufacturer.

Be sure to check new windshield thoroughly.
I had a new one put in by painter. He broke mine. After a few times driving it. I noticed there was a wave of sorts I. The glass. Hard to explain. But it bellies in a spot. Bugs the heck outta me. But not enough to replace it. |

Re: Windshield rubber seal quality...
I didn't see any pics or updates in your thread from the windshield install - will there be a write-up to follow soon? Getting ready to do the same.... I've heard Precision weatherstrip is the only way to go.

I ordered one a few months ago from J.C. Whitney. Precision brand is the only way to go. 40.00 to my front door.

Precision's website has a link to a DIY video they made on installing the 685 windshield into a 67-72 Chevy truck.

Re: Windshield rubber seal quality...
I bought mine four years ago from J.C. Whitney don't remember the name on it but it fits perfect inside and out and no signs of dry rot.
The truck sits out side almost all the time

This thread hashes the subject pretty good. There are others. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=612098 And the Precision video gives you a basic idea of how to put the thing in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOU_0HpS7To
