Bench seats 67, 69, & 71
So, I have several seats that need fixing and im wondering how I can maintain the flip forward back but use a better lower frame. So this is what I have, a 67...
This is what is critical for the seat to flip forward...

If you remove the rear flat head screws from both sides the later ones should flip forward. I'm not sure why you would want it to unless you are going to relocate your tank to the rear frame mount style. There is no usable space back there.... LockDoc

Here is the 69 seat,
And here is the 71 seat, subtle changes for the years but still located in the same mounting holes...

What Im thinking is, cutting the stop pegs off the old frame and weld them to the newer frame. Use the 67 top frame that tilts, with the stronger lower frame from the 71. ???

I see no reason that wouldn't work. Let us know the outcome if you try it. LockDoc

Getting seat upholstered with map-pockets on the back is a handy thing. Great place for some essentials that don't fit in the glovebox with out the floating around the cab. Even more hand on bucket/buddy-bucket seats. |

Re: Bench seats 67, 69, & 71
Hey Doc,
Did you know that would work? Upper frame from a 67 is 3/8" I.d. wider rhan 71 lower frame. Im waiting for pics to load. Jist is ... I gotta cut the welded stop off the older or make a new cradle for the peg to sit. But the bolts of the folding seat pivits on must be used.

Re: Bench seats 67, 69, & 71
Well, that might work.
The springs in the lower seat of the 67 were no good, top were great. Lower frame of the 69, was broken in half, rusted. 71 frame was in great shape, used the bottom, added the 67 top. Gotta few springs here and there to fix, but I have a few.
