Hey guys I'm new to this c10 thing and I was wondering if I get drop spindles let's say 2.5" and I add 2" drop coils...that gives me 4.5" total drop right? I was wondering if one had to go with the other etc...blah blah blah....I was considering stock ride spindles and then a 2" 4" drop to make the truck sit flat...so to speak...what do you think?

You can run a dropped or cut coil and a spindle independently of each other, if I understand your question correctly. The beauty of a drop spindle is that you get the drop without doing anything else to the suspension. You'll still have the same ride because the coil was unaltered. Cutting coils or going with a drop coil can change the camber, but unless you go too far, it's easily correctable by a competent alignment shop. I like a combination of a drop spindle and cutting one coil from a stock coil spring. You get around 4.5 inches of drop, the suspension can still stay within alignment specs, and it firms up the ride a little.

What do you have in mind for the rear suspension? If you want to level out the truck with a 4" drop in the front, a 6" drop in the rear usually does the trick.

I did a 2.5 drop spindle with 2" coils with 6" drop rear.. so 4.5 front and 6 rear It sits nice and low now but not so low its grounding out. Sits kinda like an old full sized Cadillac

If you are lowering a 1/2 ton with cut coil springs, I would change to a 3/4 ton spring. They are thicker springs and the coils are further apart. After your cuts you will have a firmer ride and more travel. Just one mans opinion after 12 years of use and loving the ride.

I am thinking that 2.5 in front and whatever it takes in rear to level it out will be awesome...I guess buying a new set of 3/4 ton rear springs and taking them down might be good...

Another vote for 2.5" dropped spindles + 2" drop springs in the front here...that, with 6" drop springs in the back, made for a nice ride that didn't bottom out easily and handled well.
