LockDoc summed it up...here's a couple pics to go along with what he said. This is a truck floor from LMC in a 68 Panel.

Re: full front floor replacement panel
how many different spots should you brace to? Is that support from side to side going to stay in for the rear floor to tie into? any more pics would be great. Were you happy with the fit? thanks ..

Re: full front floor replacement panel
what would you do if you needed to replace metal near the second row? can I just use flat sheet metal or should it have the raised parts ? can I use 1/8 or 1/4 inch flat sheets?

Re: full front floor replacement panel
Hi tedfrk, a few answers for ya.... that "side to side support" for the Panel did stay as per original design and the rear wood floor does tie into it as well as the front metal floor. My friend who did the work was very happy with the fit. As for the metal near the second row...I'm not sure how Suburbans look around the 2nd row b/c my Panel doesn't have a 2nd row but I'm sure someone here knows the differences for you and the proper grade of metal for replacement or repair.
here's a pic of the front floor support...it is also supported by that "side to side support" behind the front floor and along the sides, tied into the inner rocker panels. |

Re: full front floor replacement panel
Just curious Robb67, is the rear of the truck floor panel shown in your picture cut off? The reason I ask is that the step in a Burb is about 6" further back.
And as long as I'm here, a slight hi-jack: How much trouble would it be to move that channel that makes the step further back? Like maybe 3" or so for a little extra leg room? It don't look like it would take much from the picture, but they can be deceiving.

Re: full front floor replacement panel
Hey Pritch,
Your right, the rear of the "LMC truck floor' was cut off to fit Panel truck floor...I can't remember exactly how much but it was a few inches for sure maybe as much as 6 inches? I could ask my buddy that did the cutting and see if he recalls an actual amount? That rear channel is aligned with frame mounts and also provides the support for the rocker panel (right where it ends just near the rear part of the door) so I'd say someone would be in for a lot of work to gain a little leg room. Cheers! Rob |

Re: full front floor replacement panel
Yeah, I figured there was probably more to it than I would want to tackle. My floor is really good overall, but I do need to replace the first couple inches of the edges by the doors and rockers.
