1960 GMC Truck Fuel Filter

I thought I would share my stock fuel filter from my 1960 GMC 1/2 truck with a 305 v6.

I searched all over the Interwebs for more pictures or information on this, but I was only able to find one post somewhere and could not find it again.

Also, the fuel lines going into it are 3/8" OD

I should also add that it's mounted to the inner frame rail, just behind the passenger side seat area.

Re: 1960 GMC Truck Fuel Filter

They were also used on the medium duty trucks with a gas engine, up into the '80's

Re: 1960 GMC Truck Fuel Filter

I purchased two of these a while back on an ebay auction. I thought they looked cool and were period correct. Not sure if they were NOS or original but I liked them.

They are still sitting in my cabinet waiting to be installed. Glad I saw this thread so I can find replacement elements now.

Mine came with the same filter, and is still in use with my custom rear mounted tank. Napa carries the filter elements under part number 3271. O'Reilly's also carries the filter element under number 33271. The original filter assembly number was AC GF-157.

Re: 1960 GMC Truck Fuel Filter

I noticed AngryPirate said it was stock on his truck with the 305 V6. The question I have is were these an option throughout the '60's on the light duty trucks, or were they standard on certain engines? I have never seen a light duty truck with one before.

My 67 sub 327 truck has one on it. It's on the spider too so it must be optional till at least 67.
