Which oil pan to use
Does anyone have a suggestion on which oil pan to use on my 1952 chevy, S10swap frame with LS1 motor, part # or ,,,,

Doing a very similar swap. I started with an AWD LS engine that had the funky, drive shaft through oil pan. I swapped to a truck pan, and the way I mounted my engine (custom mount of course) it sits just higher than the engine cross member.
The Hummer H3 pan is a little shallower, and can be found pretty cheap. GM parts direct (or something like that.) Then there are all the car pans, but they are not really necessary on the S10 swap because you'll be limited by the frame. I'm not sure about linking to other sites, so Google this exact phrase, and you'll find some kind soul has done all of this brilliant research for all of us: "LSX Oil Pans/other info/WITH PART NUMBERS!" Thanks specv44. Once you pick the one you want, Google the part number and you'll find a kit. I just bought a truck pan from a junk year. |
