Trailer wiring/ball question

Did some searching, but can't find info.
I know a little bit about towing, but not much about trailer wiring.
I have a 66 C20, and I have a Class 3 hitch to install, but not sure what to about the wiring. I installed an AAW Upgraded wiring harness, and I know I can go to the local Walmart and get a wiring adapter to plug the trailer wiring into to make the trailer lights work.

I would really like to know if there is an adapter that will work for basic trailer lights, and later on for a potential heavier trailer with brakes, and possibly an RV hookup. In the immediate future, I will be hauling a fairly lightweight 2 place motorcycle trailer with ony one motorcycle on it. I also would like it to be mounted to the bumper and not have wires hanging all over the place when not in use, and something a little more elegant than coiling them up and securing with a zip tie when not in use. I want to do this once, and do it right. Not really too worried about spending some money to do it right once. Any recommendations?
Also, what is a good ball system that can accomodate different size balls, as well as different heights and is lockable preferably, but locking isn't mandatory.

I used a 7-way "RV" connector and have an adapter plug I got off ebay for a few dollars that converts it to a 4/5-way flat connector.

Not sure about your wiring, since I just hooked it into the OE harness and added the couple of extra wires I needed.

Trailer brakes are nice to have...

I actually asked AAW if they would sell me the connectors or make me one that would just plug and play for our trucks, still havent heard from them. I would make a few if they would sell me the connectors.

I run the wires to the rear of the truck and then into a junction box, then split the tail light wires and trailer wiring out of the junction box. With this system you can change things around or check power in the box. I also use the 7 cond RV plugs and sockets on everything. I have three trucks I pull trailers with, they are all done the same way. my 1964 Chevy wrecker has a junction box under the hood and one on the rear cross member.
I have 24 years in the heavy duty trailer industry so I always wire by SAE code and have wired many different kinds of trucks and trailers.
And of course always make sure you have a good ground on the trailer and tow vehicle by testing the lights with the trailer plugged in but unhooked from the vehicle.

Im using a flat 4 plug for trailer wiring. The harness comes down the drivers side and easy to tap into.. If you need a brake controller later, you just need one wire from the bumper to the controller. Then power, brake trigger and ground to for the controller.

If your thinking of using a controller down the road, go with the 7 pin mentioned above and you can adapt it down to a 4 pin.

Yeah, I called them and the guy I spoke to was less than helpful. They put these together and send them out to have the molded ends put on. I said to sell me one without the molded ends, tell me the company and I will have them put the molded ends on them. Well he wasnt going to do that.

Thanks for the help, guys. I am going to get the junction box and a 7 pin connector and 4 pin adaptor. Any suggestions on where to buy a 7 pin connector that will mount on my step bumper near the license plate? I'm sure there are a million places to get this stuff, just would like to have recommendations on where you've had good experiences, nice quality parts and resonable prices.

Napa has all the stuff you need but they are more expensive. you also want brass contacts in the plug and socket. I have the stuff you need here, I can put together a kit for you if you want. PM me
