I swear, if it's not one thing, IT'S ANOTHER!
LOL, I shoulda actually knew my luck. Well, so I got my flexplate fixed and it cranks like a mother now...only problem is, it won't fire. I checked for 12v+ on the coil, and it had it...so I guess it's either my module/rotor/coil...or maybe all three! I seriously think I'm going to finally give up and just order the damn MSD Super HEI kit and be done with it! Aside from the starting problem, the only leak it's got is the valve cover (to be expected). I've already got all the parts to fix that...and I THIINK my carb is finally tuned decent enough (looked at my spark plugs, and they're a perfect tan color.)
LoL, after all the money I've put into this damn thing, and these stupid SMALL problems keep coming up... On a side note though, anyone know where I can get a harness that goes from the module up to the Cap? (Three wires) Also...I'm finally happy with the stance of my truck! (At least on the passenger side, haha) |

I've put about $ 15k in the truck and it's still not roadgoing. As a matter af fact the engine hasn't been running since august 1999. But I've done a frame off resto and the last five months haven't been able to just take a look at my truck. I've bought a new home in February and haven't done a thing on my truck since.

Here is mine,
09/xx/89 to 8/29/2003 Invested to date total = total from all those years or just the previous incarnation.. Previously it was up past $15K and it sill looked like crap, and now it isn't even recognizable... You both can feel better now, can't ya?

Chris...I even have you beat!!! Mine shouldn't go up too much more except for paint, all the expensive stuff is already purchased and awaiting installation.

I know I have a 68...but oh well :p
5/xx/00-8/29/03 = 10k roughly, and about another 2k just to make it semi-roadworthy. Probably another 4k to get the body where I want it. It makes me sick knowing how much I've got in my truck, and knowing that it isn't near roadworthy yet

Well, back in March, I took out a $4000 loan to fix it all up...so, I figure that's it...next month, when I pay this loan off, I'm gonna prolly take out another one and get all the bodywork done.

I find it amazing how fast money adds up, it's like going to Wally World. Go in to spend five bucks and come out looking at the receipt, trying to figure out, where a hundred bucks went.
I know I am guilty of picking up odds and ends. They just look lonely on the shelf I sometimes look at my truck and wonder where all that money is, then I look at the detailed build sheet and there I am looking in amazement, like I was at the Wally World receipt |
