Staright Six Identifiacation
I'm pretty sure that I've identified the straight 6 in my son's truck, but I'd like to double check it with you guys.
I've included a photo. As best I can tell the stamp is: 37 127 This should be a: '73-'76 250ci underneath the 37 127, there is a 'G' next to a larger 'M', directly under the GM is the number '81' |

Re: Staright Six Identifiacation
Give me a picture of the side cover. 4 inches tall for a 250 and 6 inches tall for a 292. Fuel pump right behind the dizzy on a 250 and middle of the block on a 292.

Re: Staright Six Identifiacation
That's the same arrangement as a 230 also, although the fuel pump looks different. But it also looks like someone pump the wrong pump on and had to make it work.

Re: Staright Six Identifiacation
Anyone know where I can find a decoder for the ID: F0418CCJ?
Like I mentioned earlier in this post, I believe this motor is a '73-'76 250ci, but I'm trying to make sure. |

Re: Staright Six Identifiacation
I think you really need the casting numbers to be sure because it also shows CCJ for 1976:
1976 6-cylinder CCC - 250cid w/TH200 and NB2 CCD - 250cid w/3-speed manual and NB2 CCF - 250cid w/TH200 CCL - 250cid CCJ - 250cid |

Re: Staright Six Identifiacation
Good catch. So... it's a 250ci made in 1976 or 1978.
Thanks again, Everyone |
